INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. beans (Grade A North)
1/2 lb light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 lid full of vinegar (probably about 2 tsp)
1/2 bottle of ketchup
1/2 tsp mustard
1/4 lb bacon (cut in 1/2 inch pieces and browned - you can use the bacon fat
and put in with the beans when they are cooked)
1 pinch of salt
1 shake of pepper
Put beans in pot and add twice as much water to beans
Bring to a boil
Turn down temperature and cook until tender (about 2 1/2 -3 hours)
Stir periodically to keep tender
Leave the water on the beans and add the other ingredients
Stir together and simmer or pour in a casserole and bake at 325 F until flavor
gets incorporated into beans. Could also put into a crock pot and slow cook.
